Platform: MSX
Year: 1985
Developer: Konami

Yie Ar Kung-Fu II is a beat 'em up. Set 20 years after the MSX version of the prequel (a different story from the arcade version) where the player was rescuing ancient China from a gang, it turns out that one gang member survived, became the first opponent (warlord) in this game and got 7 allies. The player is now the former protagonist's son Lee-Young.

The sequel adds a 2-player mode and a bit more. Player 1 can now bounce off the sides of the screen. Player 2 can't jump into the air, but wrap from one side to the other. On the single player's way to a warlord, midget attackers fly towards him. Hitting 5 formations of three provides him with a Oo-Long tea which fills up his energy upon keypress. Every now and then, a bowl of Chow Mein noodles floats down from the sky and supplies seconds of invinciblity as you go for it.

Every character has a unique weapon. For the player, it's jumping.

Guess the computer is too tough for me.

Music

The initial stand-alone release uses the built-in MSX PSG only. The recordings for them are numbered 301 and onwards below.

Two later releases, at least one being part of Konami Game Collection Vol. 1, use two slightly incompatible SCC chips. Both support 5 voices which made room for grander arrangements, although on the earlier chip (recordings numbered 201 and onwards), 2 voices have to share a waveform, resulting in slightly inferior instruments in the looping songs. The recordings for the later chip are numbered 101.

On the MSX PSG, Warning starts with 12 beeps; on the SCC, it does not. Sound effects are still played on the PSG.

The titles are unofficial and based on the respective song's appearance in the game.
