Kazuo Sawa is a Japanese composer, sound designer and programmer. He attended the Tokai University. While in college, he was playing in a band and then started work at Technos Japan Corp. and Million. While he mainly composed music for them, he seemed to have also been a freelance composer because of his previous work for HAL Laboratory, Jaleco, and Infinity, mainly for the Famicom. In 1993, he started DSP, a company which specializes in game audio. In 2001, he founded the Tokai University Jazz Study Group OB Club with one of his colleagues. He is currently working as well freelance composer.

Music Development

FDS

Kazuo programmed his own sound driver and wrote the music in assembly. Unfortunately, the FDS channel he programmed is out of tune from the 2A03.

NES

Kazuo wrote a sound driver and wrote the music in assembly. In Technos, he used Michiya Hirasawa's sound engine. He later used another sound engine which was possibly written by Masayoshi Koyama.
