Katsuhiro Hayashi is a former Sega sound composer. He left around the same time as Koichi Namiki and Jouji Iijima, both guitarists from the now defunct S.S.T. Band, and would work with them (especially the former) on occasion.

While working at Sega, he was best known for composing the music for Quartet and SDI. Following his departure, he joined Media Rings and composed music for a few SNES titles. He then became the main composer of the Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku series.

Music Composition

SMS

Katsuhiro had this to say about his Sega Master System music:

It did not have a sequencer those days. DX-7 was flipped and the music side was written. It thinks in a melody, a base, a drum, and turn. A program is a macro assembler of Z80. CN4, L16, DN4, L8, EN4, FN4. It was the way that the efficiency in which it carries out hand-made from a music side was bad. Since OS was a powerless machine of CP/M, only this way existed. as [ believe / by the present young creator ] It is poor environment.
