foobar2000 is a plugin-based media player for Windows. It has a large library of plugins for most modern audio formats and pretty extensive support for the most common retro video game formats through plug-ins.

In addition to playing most popular formats, foobar2000 can convert every format it supports (including those through plugins) into several lossy and lossless formats, especially OGG and FLAC, which are important to this site. For instructions on setting up the conversion process see the foobar2000 Conversion Setup guide.
