Wolfenstein 3D for Atari ST is a homebrew port of original DOS game. This port most closely resembles the Apple II GS port using the redrawn sprites and graphics from the Jaguar release.

Music

Since the Atari ST isn't powerful enough to run the 3D engine and the music engine simultaneously, music is not played during the levels. Instead, as in the Acorn Archimedes port, music is heard during the intermission between levels. Roster has been re-purposed as the game's title music, replacing Horst-Wessel-Lied and Get Them Before They Get You appears when you are choosing the game's difficulty level. In total, the game has only 5 of 27 original DOS tracks.

(Info)

The music was taken from SNDH archive from the folder "DMA-SC" and played with JAM For Windows.

Audio Devices

The music is rendered on the Atari ST's YM2149 chip, inferior to the original's YM3812, but it gives the music an interesting sound.
