- This page is for the Sansara Naga song, for more titles see Wakare.
Wakare is the melancholy, yet somehow upbeat tune. It plays during the cutscene that displays after the final boss, the Chaos Dragon has been defeated by the protagonist's dragon. The cutscene shows the skeleton of the slayed Chaos Dragon, while the protagonist's silhouette is shown mourning. The game explains that while the Chaos Dragon has been defeated, the player's dragon also died in combat, as they used the Legendary Breath to slay the Chaos Dragon, which can only be used once by a dragon that has been raised with the utmost care.
Title
The song title comes from the Samsara Naga 1&2 Soundtracks album and is originally written in Japanese. The Japanese text 別れ means Farewell, or any related words. The title fits the game, as it is played during the cutscene where the protagonist's dragon dies.

The song was most likely arranged by Osamu Kasai, Masaaki Harada, and/or Shinji Nakayama, as ACC, the developer, is credited for programming in the game's manual, while Kawai is credited for music, and the three have credits in other ACC titles.
The ACC audio team arranged Kenji Kawai's music in Sound Routine, their in-house sound driver, most likely in 6502 assembly machine code.
