Virtua Fighter in Japanese (バーチャファイター - Bāchafaitā), is a port of the Sega Saturn version, is the first 3D fighting game originally released in Sega arcades, was developed by SEGA-AM2 Co., LTD and distributed by Sega Corp. on the Genesis add-on, the 32X in 1995 worldwide.
Virtua Fighter is considered one of the pioneers in fighting games with fully 3D environments and characters. Fighters and scenes are represented by flat polygons. Unlike many fighting games, Virtua Fighter focuses on gameplay based on realistic fighting styles rather than special moves and crazy storylines.
There are eight fighters to choose from in Virtua Fighter, and the same number of stages to compete on. Each fighter has a distinctive fighting style and his own signature moves.
This port is very good on a technical level and very well done by Sega AM2 commanded by the guru of Sega: Yu Suzuki who was the director of the game developer, its development was at the height of Sega Saturn, its graphics were very good for the time, the level of polygons is achieved, the sound effects are not very clear but the music if we have something positive, has the same essence of the game and adapted to the console as much as possible.
The game is good but the peripheral is bad, but this does not mean that it is bad, on the contrary it received good reviews from magazines and specialists in video games, to the point that the same community was based on this port to launch a demo on Game Boy Advance.
This game squeezed the 32X to the maximum of what it offered, an excellent work was done by Sega AM2 those of the Palm Tree, that group was the strongest of Sega creating mythical sagas and as it was the new saga of Virtua Fighter.

The authors of the music were the amazing Takayuki Nakamura (known for several games like Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (GEN), Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (SMS) and the arcade version of Virtua Fighter, etc..) and Masaru Setsumaru as second author of the music transferring it to the chip that offered the 32X plus extra channels of digital PWM sound are added for a total of 12 channels next to the Genesis.
This music is almost the same as what the original arcade had, very characteristic of a rudimentary 3D fighting game for the time and technical monster of the 32X.
