Vicarious Visions, Inc. is an American video game developer based in Albany, New York. The studio was acquired by Activision in January 2005. After releasing its last game as part of that company, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, Vicarious Visions became part of Activision's sister company Blizzard Entertainment in January 2021 and was merged into it in April 2022, thereby being renamed Blizzard Albany.

Music Development

PC / Console

On their first title Synnergist, composers used FM Timbre Library by George Sanger.

For their later works, Todd Masten used Cubase 6.

Game Boy Color

On Zebco Fishing! and Vigilante 8, Todd Masten converted PCM samples to unique sound driver.

Later, developers contracted with Shin'en Multimedia to using of GHX sound driver by Martin Wodok for their games. Most of games were composed by Manfred Linzner.

Zoboomafoo: Playtime in Zoboland and Monsters, Inc used Cosmigo's sound driver.

Nintendo 64

On Polaris SnowCross, Todd Masten used MusyX, a sound tool by Factor 5.

Game Boy Advance

Most of their games used Shin'en Multimedia's GAX sound engine by Bernhard Wodok.

On both Muppets games, Bart Roijmans used MadTracker and converted his XM files for playback with Engine Software's sound driver by Jan-Lieuwe Koopmans.

On their unreleased game Static Shock, Kai Walter used Sonix, a sound tool by Cosmigo.

Nintendo DS

They early titles used Shin'en Multimedia's DSX sound engine by Bernhard Wodok.

Shrek the Third possibly used Nintendo's Nitro Composer sound driver.

On later titles, original music recordings were converted as RAW data.

Mobile

On their mobile games, composers of Shin'en Multimedia used Cakewalk.
