Hi! So good to find this website, it's a mystery that I haven't found this even though I've been on the internet so long... Thought I'd contact you if there are some rules for uploading copyrighted music - do you have to rip every song yourself? --McLennonSon (talk) 02:23, 30 April 2024 (EDT)
- Hello there and welcome. See Editing Rules and its subpages. --binarymaster (talk) 06:08, 30 April 2024 (EDT)
- Welcome to the wiki! As Binarymaster said, reading the rules is important, but I can answer your question myself for expedience's sake.
- It is acceptable to upload rips (files containing the actual data for each song, in formats like VGM or NSF) that were made by other people. However, you need to list the person responsible for creating them in both their metadata and the wiki's page for the game. Recordings, on the other hand, should not be taken from other sources - they should come from the game (or, if that isn't feasible, a rip). Hope that helps! --Theand (talk) 17:08, 30 April 2024 (EDT)
Before i go...
Hi! Thank you for all your remarks that you made to me then. Currently, I edit pages occasionally. I'm also exhausted at uploading album pages, as well as composer pages. And some of my album pages were cancelled by myself, especially:
- Rayman 2: The Great Escape (W32) - since there is no normal rip of original recording
- Power Blade (NES)
- Magician (NES)
- Gargoyles (GEN)
- Shinobi (PCE) - It has not yet been confirmed that is was arranged by Junichi Saito.
- The Revenge of Shinobi (GEN) - That was the beginning of my fanaticism by Yuzo Koshiro's works.
- Streets of Rage 3 (GEN)
- Beyond Oasis (GEN)
- The Ooze (GEN) - music style is same as Comix Zone, which is where I started creating the album pages.
- Scooby-Doo Mystery (GEN) - another Halloween release, the rip was made recently.
- Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights (PS2) - another Halloween release, I'm still not sure that Tallarico did most of tracks since he lied about it. It seems that is composed by Todd Dennis (most of level tracks) and Howard Ulyate (boss songs and rock-styled tracks).
- Rocket: Robot on Wheels (N64) - due the actual composer was unknown a long time despite that Jeremy Soule's brother was in in-game credits instead of Ashif Hakik according to some sources, but Hakik confirmed his absence. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The rest of the planned album pages are mentioned in Most Wanted pages. I even planned to upload Super Back to the Future Part II, but in vain. Since it was already in your plans. I hope, you can create Shantae page, but it's unlikely to be soon. Moreover, it is unlikely that you will be interested in these games. Moreover, I was lucky. Due to the misuse of unnecessary new pages from one newcomer on the main page, it was closed by moderators. Now only admins can add new albums. But it is unlikely that they will be able to add my new albums, even if they were made involuntarily.
All I have in mind for the future is to fix some of my album pages. Especially Sigma Star Saga, after DX version with soundtrack will be released, but i do it at end of this year. Maybe, some of Paragon 5's albums will be improved, if Dr. RNG (Blingus) will do better rips. And yes, I was too rude to some of the participants. I also protested first because of Nguyen's lies, and later because of Tommy Tallarico's lies. I'm also too fixated on sound drivers, according to my activity. Now I'm becoming less active, since I decide to go on vacation. I also want to wish you good luck in creating new album pages. --IgoreshaZhu (talk) 14:41, 2 June 2025 (EDT)
- Thank you for your kind words! I'm not counting out the possibility of finally adding at least a few of the soundtracks listed on my user page, even after all these years. Hope you enjoy your vacation from the site! --Theand (talk) 23:16, 28 June 2025 (EDT)
- I thought again about this, I will continue make articles on most of the listed games. But not as active as last year. In honor of the fact that a new Shinobi game has been released, I will start with them. I mean, Junichi Saito's arrangement of first Shinobi game and The Revenge of Shinobi. Advent Rising should be my last page, since this is one of unconfirmed Tallarico's contributions. Also, since the cheesy ports of the revived Shantae Advance have been released, you could make a page of the first Shantae game if you think it's time, as you planned. I can do song pages, since they've rearranged in sequels by same composer. And later, by Maddie Lim in Shantae Advance. So far, I've released a AGBPlay rip of Shantae Advance with some goodies in KHinsider only. You can check this out. --IgoreshaZhu (talk) 06:36, 29 August 2025 (EDT)
