The songs carry no internal titles. Tropical Ghost Oasis was named "oasis" in the archive by John Romero, however, the tune is not played in the Life Water Oasis level, and Bobby Prince didn't release a MIDI of the song which left people confused about the title. However, Prince contacted the site and gave the official title.

There are two earlier versions of this particular track available and the final track, making a total of three different revisions.
The first of these was extracted from the pre-release demo version of the game that was released October 9, 1991. It was included as part of the game files but was left unused by the game itself, with the actual game levels lacking music in this release. It becomes apparent when listening to the song that it was far from finished and it sounds very different from the one used in the final game.
The second revision was available in the collection of music that was supplied by John Romero. This one sounds almost the same as the finished track, but it is notably longer than the final version that ended up used in the game. It seems the part that starts after the first 45 seconds was just completely cut out from the final mix. This might have been due to space or memory reasons.
And the final version was naturally included in the game when the shareware was released on November 22, 1991. Again, notice that the track has been cut short by about 33 seconds by removing the final part of the song.
