Trojan |

Trojan is a action platfromer based off the Arcade game of the same name that takes place in a post apocalyptic world. Guns and bombs have reverted to swords and crossbows and the spirits of the Greek and Roman myths have returned to conquer once more. It is up to you to fight against their new armies and make your way through the six deadly stages until you can confront Achilles, the deadliest of them all.
Although the story of Trojan is kind of cool and the imagery is great, the game play is seriously flawed. Controlling your player is very difficult and even cat-like reflexes won't save you from the rapid attacks that abound. Since your player doesn't become temporarily invincible after getting hit you can be quickly wiped out if you're not careful. Most of the game is spent blindly rushing forward swinging your sword without skill. However, you will have to learn to effectively use your shield to survive the difficult boss battles.

Music
Ayako Mori has obviously improved her technique for the music of Trojan. Unlike of the beeps and buzzes of 1942 (NES), Trojan has a much more melodious sound. While none of the tracks really stand out as amazing, they're still high quality for 1986. The tunes are pretty dark sounding and nicely match the mood of the game. Capcom still doesn't have decent percussion synthesis, so the drums are pretty awful.
The game lacks credits. However, a Capcom staff member verified that Ayako ported her own music from the arcade to the NES. Yoshihiro Sakaguchi programmed the sound driver at Capcom.
There appears to be an unused track in the NES game's ROM. It has been recorded as track 15 - Unknown. If you know where in the game this track plays, please let us know.

Game Rip
Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
