Tomotsune Maeno is a professional musician from Japan. In 1986, he attended the Hokkaido University and got his start in music there, playing in the band Baker Shop Boogie (alongside Daisuke Inoue). In 1990, he moved to Tokyo, where he became a keyboardist, arranger, and a producer. He has worked with major artists in Japan including Yoshihiro Kai, Lindberg, Keiori Iida, and Reika Morishita. He currently teaches a Rock & Pops course at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

Around 1987, while he was based in Sapporo, he started composing music for Hudson Soft. Some of his best known works include Neutopia, Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom, and Momotarou Densetsu. It appears when Maeno relocated to Tokyo in the 90's, he also retired from the game industry as well. He is currently a music teacher.

Audio Development

NES/TG16

Since Hudson's audio drivers required some programming knowledge, Maeno most likely sent some tangible form of media to Hudson Soft, where their staff arranged and implemented it into the game.

Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom's music was arranged for the NES by Katsunori Takahashi.

His PC Engine music was converted to Takayuki Iwabuchi's sound driver, possibly by Toshiyuki Sasagawa and Toshiaki Takimoto.
