- This page is for the Dr. Mario (NES) song, for more titles see Title BGM.
The Title BGM is played at the game's title screen and menu. Interestingly, being a direct port of the NES version, the Game Boy version doesn't contain this song.
Title
The title comes from the album Famicom 20th Anniversary - Original Sound Tracks, Vol.3.
Composition
The song begins with a whining instrument that plays four repetitions and progresses as the song's melody. After the four repetitions, bass and drums kick into gear and continue the song.
The song contains a lot of dotted eighth notes followed by sixteenth notes, creating a reggae feel to the song. Not surprising, as Tanaka has stated he was greatly influenced by reggae music.
