Theme from Pool of Radiance |
|
Theme from Pool of Radiance is the name of the song that plays at the title screen for the Commodore 64 version of the game. It may have also been used in the Apple II version. It was composed by David Warhol. The song also made it into the Commodore 64, Macintosh and MS-DOS ports of the game's sequel, Curse of the Azure Bonds.
Title
When asked for the official title of the song, David Warhol said he called it Theme from Pool of Radiance, though he is aware that the game was mostly used in Curse of the Azure Bonds.
Composition
Warhol has stated that his composition quotes a little of Richard Wagner. As of 2002, he likes the drive and how all sections fit together, except for the transition at 0:19-0:21 which "just doesn't flow naturally" and drives him nuts.

We have asked Warhol if he worked on the Macintosh port, but he said he didn't do anything Macintosh and somebody most likely arranged his song. The Mac version of the game credits the people responsible behind the port, but no arranger.
