The NeverEnding Story is a same semi-graphical text adventure. You read the text and type in commands like a normal text adventure, but there are occasional graphics along the way to keep the game interesting. The ZX Spectrum appears to have been ported from the Commodore 64, and features lower-quality graphics and sound.

Music
The single track from the game is the American movie's title song, The NeverEnding Story. While Fred Gray was able to get the tune to sound close enough to the original to be recognized, it has a few noticeable incorrect notes.
