The Legend of Zelda is a series of action adventure games developed and published by Nintendo. The series was initially designed by Shigeru Miyamoto with music by Koji Kondo, but as the sequels churned out, various other designers and composers have become integrated into the series.

The game's Japanese title (Zeruda no Densetsu) is a direct translation of the game's English title, but can also be translated to "Zelda's Legend".
