Team X-Fade (pronounced Crossfade) was a Japanese freelance sound unit. The group consisted of Eiji Hirasawa, Hideyuki Sugai, Hiroshi Fujioka, and Toyokazu Nagaishi, though the team would sometimes seek additional help. Their website explained that there was no "leader" of the group, but rather each game would have a different person in charge of the project.

The group name was in reference to both, the term used in video and audio editing, as well as the old Macintosh software called Alchemy, which had a feature called "XFade".

In addition to video games, the group also worked on MIDI development, radio, and even released books.

The group used a variant of Nintendo's Kankichi-kun software, the 1.20 version in particular. Based on both their official works list, as well as some game credits, the driver modifications were done by Nagaishi.

Asameshimae Nyanko uses a variant of the SQ&DBOOT sound driver. World Heroes 2 also uses a variant of Kankichi-kun 1.20, but modified by Saurus. Shiroi Ring he uses a custom sound driver by Kenichi Tomizawa.
