Takahiro Wakuta is a Japanese composer and sound designer. He started off working for Human Entertainment around 1989, and is considered one of the first composers to work for the company, along with Masaki Hashimoto and Masamichi Yamazaki. During his time at Human, he primarily composed for the NES, Game Boy, and SNES. He is perhaps best known for his work on Ultraman, which has been highly acclaimed, as well as SD Gundam Gaiden: Lacroan Heroes. Around 1991, Wakuta left Human Entertainment and started working for Affect, primarily composing their home console games. For Affect, he is known for his works such as Kendo Rage and Cacoma Night in Bizyland. He worked for Affect for over 10 years, composing the music to a great deal of their games.
Audio Development
NES
To create music on the NES, Wakuta wrote the music in a custom MML in a sound driver written by Human's Tohru Hayashi. He only worked on two games, Gilligan's Island and Kabuki Quantum Fighter, both of which he worked with Masaki Hashimoto.
SNES
Takahiro used instruments from a Korg M1.
Kendo Rage uses the DBOOT VER1.03 driver, possibly modified by Affect, while Cacoma Knight in Bizyland uses a unique build of it. Ultraman uses a custom sound driver, likely by Human.
Gameography
Note: Though Takahiro Wakuta worked on Kaiketsu Zorori: Mezase! Itazura King (PS2), he was not involved with the audio, so it is not listed here.
