Tadao Inoue (better known as Daisuke Inoue, 井上大輔, not to be confused with Daisuke Inoue) was a Japanese musician. He sang vocals and also played flute and saxophone. He was discovered in 1963 by Jackie Yoshikawa and Michiji Ohashi while performing in a jazz café, and subsequently joined Yoshikawa's band the Blue Comets. He wrote such songs as Blue Eyes and Blue Chateau. In 1972, he started as a songwriter and wrote songs like Gakuen Tengoku and Runaway. In 1981, he changed his name to the stage name Daisuke Inoue. He got the name from his nickname Daichan, a name he received when Yuya Uchida would mistakenly introduce him as "Daisuke Inoue".
Inoue expanded his horizons into the film industry, and scored the music to the second Ai Warrior movie, the third Meguriai movie, and the Mobile Suit Gundam movies. He also wrote a Coca-Cola jingle for a Japanese coke commercial, I Feel Coke. In March 2000, he had to get surgery for a detached retina in his eye, and his wife was constantly ill. However, his condition was not improving. Unfortunately, on the morning of May 30, 2000, he committed suicide. On September 15, 2001, his wife also committed suicide. In December 2000, a concert was held by his former bandmates for his funeral.
