This fanfare is used during the cutscenes, usually after a bad event has occurred. Only the first four notes play.

Though the game credits Novko Hasebe as its composer, she explained that she did not work on this song. This means that the person credited for 'Music Program', Junichi Ueda, most likely arranged this song. He did so by using a PC-9801 and entering assembly macros into the Z80 version of Sega's SMPS sound driver. It is sound ID $9B in the game's code.
