Starfield is a song from the Life Force / Salamander game series. It was composed by Miki Higashino and first heard in the original arcade release of the game. The title comes from the Salamander ~Again~ album.
Games
- Note: Starfield is not include in the Arcade Deluxe port. The Amstrad CPC port has not been verified.
Life Force (ARC)
The original arcade game features Miki Higashino's composition rendered on the YM2151, VLM5030, and K007232 audio chips. Starfield plays in stage 4. It is not known who arranged Higashino's music for the game.
Starfield was replaced by Slash Fighter in the deluxe version of the game.
Life Force (NES)
The NES port of Power of Anger was arranged by Shinya Sakamoto, Satoe Terashima, and Hidenori Maezawa. Atsushi Fujio most likely wrote the sound code for the port. The song plays in the second stage which the game manual calls "Volcanic Stage", which is the same as stage 4 in the arcade release.
Salamander (MSX)
Starfield is used in stage 3 of the MSX port. The arranger is unknown.
Salamander (X68)
The music for the Sharp X68000 port was rearranged for the YM2151 and the OKI MSM6258V.
Salamander (ZXS)
The Speccy uses a really slow and choppy version of Starfield for its title music. The arranger is probably the game's programmer, Andrew Glaister.
