The Soundscape DB is a daughter board for the first Soundscape sound card, and released in tandem by Ensoniq. The daughter board was designed to match the shape and functionality of the Creative Labs Wave Blaster so that, not only could the Soundscape DB be used with the Sound Blaster 16, but the Wave Blaster could be used with the Soundscape.
The Soundscape DB used an OTTO synthesizer chip, the same chip found on the Soundscape, which was capable of 32 simultaneous voices, 32 note polyphony, and came loaded with samples of the full 128 General MIDI instrument compliment and 61 drum programs.
