Sega Master System / Game Gear / ColecoVision Music Format is an audio format that stores sections of audio software. It was originally designed to accommodate the Master System, Game Gear, and ColecoVision, but technically allows for any platform that utilizes a Z80 processor and an SN76489 audio chip. Playback requires the emulation of both the CPU and audio chip.
The format is similar in structure to the NSF or SC68 formats.

Games
Any game released for the ColecoVision, Master System, or Game Gear can have their audio ripped into SGC.
How to Obtain
Ripping SGC files requires an intimate knowledge of Z80 machine code and how each platform implements the SN76489 audio chip. Currently, most SGC rips come from Game Geam games and can be downloaded from the following sites:
- kss.joshw.info/Game%20Gear - Josh W (individually 7Z archived, most with proper timing, intermixed with KSS).
- zophar.net/music/sgc.html - Zophar's SGC archive.
