QBasic Gorillas is a simple artillery game where you and an opponent play as gorillas who are throwing exploding bananas at each other atop a city skyline. The objective of the game is to hit your opponent before they hit you.

The game was included with MS-DOS 5.0 to showcase the operating systems new Quick BASIC programming language. The full source of the game was included so programmers could study the programming methods and alter the game as desired. Despite being included in a Microsoft operating system and being written in a Microsoft programming language, the game was developed by Microsoft and Published by IBM.

The game only has a couple brief PC speaker jingles. The title theme is a excerpt from the 1812 Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, which was also used in the other game that was released with DOS 5.0, Nibbles. Nibbles, however, doesn't contain any other songs.
