Music

There are only two songs in the game; one that plays while in-game and the other plays when you're in the training courses. The good thing about the music is that the song you will be listening to mostly throughout the game is over a minute long which makes it take a while before getting annoying. The music was sequenced, but the sequencer is unknown. The music from the NES version can be heard in the Game Boy, SNES, and DOS versions too.

The game lacks credits, something that all Eastridge Technology games have. In 2018, Rich Shemaria indentified himself as being the composer for this game, as well as Eastridge Technology being the developer. Shemaria said that while many have compared the song (mainly the SNES version of the main theme) to the Seinfeld Theme, he stated that it wasn't likely an inspiration, and explained that he had originally listened to the original arcade game to get inspiration. To see what he said, check out the SNES version soundtrack. Shemaria also said that the song sounds a bit different than he originally wrote it.

To create the music, Shemaria used a Yamaha DX7 synthesizer along with a Roland 505 drum machine. His compositions were then arranged into the game by its programmer, Nick Eastridge. In the early versions of Nick Eastridge's sound driver, Nick would enter the music in assembly macros. However, by this time, he had developed a tool for converting MIDI files to his sound driver. This is evidenced not only by the off timing of the notes, but also the seemingly random velocities heard throughout the song.

The PAL version of the soundtrack, with a few exceptions. First, it is interesting to note that while the pitch was dropped a half step like other PAL versions of NTSC games, the tempo was kept the same. For the Main Theme, there is an extra drumbeat before the song starts, resulting in just a slightly longer track time. In addition, another interesting change is that the drumbeat for the Training Course music was changed completely and simplified.

Credits

As per usual with Eastridge Technology games, this game lacks credits. In 2018, Rich Shemaria revealed on a YouTube video that he was the composer, as well as Nick Eastridge being the programmer and Eastridge Technology being the developer.
