Pachicom (short for Pachinko Computer') is a pachinko simulation game for the Famicom, and quite possibly the first one released for the system. The game was also made available on the MSX and PC88 computers. The game allows a few play modes. In Game A, you must score 3000 points, and then complete the bonus round. In Game B, you go against a timer, in which you must score as much points as possible in the time allotted. The game offers over 300 possible pachinko boards to play on, which is an impressive feature for its time.

The game has gained somewhat of a reputation due to the programmer leaving nasty messages in the game's ROM text. This is also true for the MSX version of the game.

Music

There's not much in the way of music, other than a title track by Toshiba's Keiichi Maruyama. The song was used in all versions of the game. The song only lasts 10 seconds and doesn't loop. Though the game was subsequently released for the Famicom Disk System via the disk writer, the music doesn't take advantage of the FDS's RP2C33's expansion audio, and is exactly the same as the standard Famicom version.

Keiichi most likely wrote the composition as sheet music, or some other tangible media, which was then handed over to the programmers to implement into the game.

Credits

(Source)

The game credits the composer in the game's instruction manual, but it is likely Keiichi's music was implemented into the game by an unknown programmer. The game credits its development team in the ROM, but no roles are given. We reached out to one of the known developers, Yoshihiro Kishimoto, but because of how much time has passed since the game was developed, he couldn't remember.

Among the developers is a "Y.Suzuki", who could possibly have been Yayoi Suzuki, who received credit in games by the same developer for sound effects, so he may have been responsible for the arrangement.

Ripping NES music is an arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site. The music was recorded in NSFPlay Synthesia Mod.
