The song also plays while you are in New Phlan, but is first heard during the main menu. It was arranged by Masayuki Kurinaga, who used custom music development software similar to a Yamaha DX7. The PC98 version takes advantage of the YM2203's FM + PSG capabilities. As a result, some other parts were added. It sounds like Kurinaga had to learn the music by ear.

The song might also play in the Sharp X1 and PC88 versions.
