New Colony is a song played in SimAnt during the full game when you switch from one colony location to another. It was composed either by Matthew Berardo, Steve Hales, Jack Thorton, or Chris Schardt.

The title comes from the song's file name and the meta data in it. In the game's files, the song is notated with a 2 at the end for an unknown reason. It could be that there were originally 2 songs made for switching colonies and the first was removed from the game, or, perhaps, this was the composer's second attempt at the song.

Although the Windows port includes this song among its music files, it does not play the song when you switch colonies. This may have just been an oversight by the programmers, but it also may have been done on purpose since this version of the song is noticeably slower than the original DOS version; a delay that may have been undesirable.

The song's file name is NEWCOLN2.MID, and "newco2.mid" is its title in the MIDI meta data.
