Masanori Miyamoto is a Japanese composer and sound designer known for his many works with Compile. He joined the company around 1985 and left around 1990. He was the company's first main sound composer. He started off working on the MSX series of games produced by the company. However, when Compile started making games for home consoles, he would usually be the one to work on their audio, though most of the time he was not credited. As more composers joined Compile, he started to do less music for them and was mostly credited as a sound director. His last couple of games credit him for digitized audio.
For many years, his name was thought to be Masatomo Miyamoto, but it was later revealed his first name is actually Masanori.
Some of Miyamoto's best known works include Lunar Ball and The Guardian Legend.
