Masahiko Ishida is a Japanese musician. He used the aliases "OH!G.I." and "GEO". Ishida worked for Irem from 1987, mainly on arcade games like Image Fight and R-TYPE II, and left about 3 years later. It seems he was the first person hired at Irem specifically for the sound department. After leaving Irem, Ishida briefly worked at SNK Playmore, but actual game titles from that period are not well-documented.

Among Ishida's compositions, the final stage music of Ninja Spirit titled "DARK BLUE" remains very popular and can be considered one of his representative tracks. True to Irem's style at the time, most of the works he was involved in are known for their high difficulty, with only a few exceptions.

Ishida has since established the music production company "High Tracks" and is currently involved in music-related work.

Irem's arcade game sound tool was great! It was more than what most commercial software had to offer. High performance. It was like re-composer software; Key-note, Step, Gate, Velocity and using MIDI keyboard. I think that it was going much than other companies.

FC

For the Family Computer, Masahiko Ishida wrote a sound engine and composed music with his own software using a Famicom controller. The program works like a piano roll and has a step input system that is simpler than assembly or Music Macro Language. It was used in both Holy Diver and Kickle Cubicle.
