Magicvibe is an upbeat menu song unique to Cybergammon (AMI).

After you launch Cybergammon, the screen is black, the disk drive rattles for 5 seconds, this song starts, the drive rattles for 5 more seconds, and the menu picture fades in for a second. When you press F1, F2 or F3, the picture fades to black, the music stops, and the game follows. After the round ends, the main menu returns, though this time, you may hear the bass jump a bit as it loads.

Title

The original disk has two spellings:

  • SFX/CG.Titel, the path.
  • magicvibe, the songname.

Composition

The bass and chords are in major, while the melody is in a different key. The notes were typed in C, but the samples transpose them three semitones up to D♯.

Stember arranged using SoundTracker III and his own samples:

Channel Samples
Drums
  1. dbbassd
  2. dbhat
  3. dbsnare - reminiscent of Word Up! and She Drives Me Crazy
  4. dbclaps
Bass
  1. empick
Major chords
  1. cpiano - D♯4–G4–A♯4
  2. pianog - D4–F4–A♯4
  3. fpiano - G♯3–C4–D♯4
  4. gpiano - A♯3–D4–F4
Melody
  1. vibe

The game turns the LED filter off. For recording, Cybergammon was launched in WinUAE 6.0.3 with NTSC off, Stereo separation 100%, and Audio filter:

  1. Emulated (A500), like Stember and most gamers had.

Recordings for Amiga 1000 and 1200 can be made if found different enough. An official NTSC release is unlikely.
