Game Ultima VII: The Black Gate (DOS)
Title Origin Game Location
Loops No

Love (A Virtue) is the theme of Empath Abbey in Ultima VII: The Black Gate (DOS). Like the other two buildings that embody a principle, Serpent's Hold has the Fanfare of Courage and the Lycaeum has The Beauty. Ironically, the title suggests that love is a virtue, but in the Ultima universe, love is not a virtue, but a principle. The song is very similar in structure to the Shrine themes.

This song is track 37 in the game's data files.

Title

Love (A Virtue) is not one of the five songs named in the credits, and the game's music files are left untitled. Thankfully, the song was released on the Origin Soundtrack Series, Vol. 2 album which gives it an official title. The song is the second half of track 10 preceded by Dupré's Death.
