Lawrence Schwedler is an American composer, sound designer, and producer. His first foray into the games industry was in August 1992 when he worked for Adaptive Design as a composer and production assistant, working on the Philips CD-i. Two years later, he started working for The Dreamers Guild, continuing to compose music and sound effects. At the end of 1996, he started working at JVC Digital Arts Studio, where he worked as an audio director. In April 1999, he joined Nintendo's American development division, Nintendo Software Technology Corp., where he spent over a decade working as a composer, sound designer, and audio director. In mid-2012, Lawrence left Nintendo to work for the game design college DigiPen, teaching audio classes, where he still works to this day.

Aliases
Though not an alias per se, the Japanese instruction manual for Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! credits him as ローレンス シュウェルダー (Rōrensu Shuwerudā). However, this incorrectly translates to Lawrence Schwelder. His last name should actually be spelled シュウェドラー (Shuwedorā).
