Kirby's Dream Land 2 in japanese (星のカービィ2 - Hoshi no Kirby 2) ,is a platform game featuring the charismatic character Kirby', developed by HAL Laboratory, released by Nintendo for the Game Boy handheld console in 1995. It is the direct sequel to Kirby's Dream Land and the second game in the Kirby series.
In this game, the player controls Kirby, a pink creature who has the ability to inhale his enemies and copy their abilities. The objective is to advance through a series of levels, defeating bosses and collecting special items.
The development was based on the original engine of the first installment of the console but its graphics are fine for a monochrome console, almost the same controls, similar mechanics only that there are more characters, effects and sounds very well achieved for the title and a variety of different sprites due to the limitations of the hardware.
The game features a similar level design to its predecessor, but with some new features. Most notable is the inclusion of three animal companions: Rick the hedgehog, Kine the fish and Coo the owl. Each animal has unique abilities that can help Kirby overcome obstacles and enemies in his path. For example, Rick can roll into a ball to destroy obstacles, Kine can swim quickly through water and Coo can fly.
It features seven worlds, each with several levels and a final boss. By defeating the bosses, Kirby gets one of the seven rainbow stars needed to unlock the final level. There are also several collectibles in each level, such as extra life hearts and coin medals that can be used to play a slot machine mini-game.
The game was well received by critics and has been considered one of the best games in the Kirby series. The inclusion of animal companions and the skill matching system were particularly well received and have become recurring elements in other games in the series.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 has been re-released several times, including Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and Nintendo Switch Online.

The soundtrack was composed by Tadashi Ikegami as programmer/arranger and composer for HAL Laboratory and Hirokazu Ando, the latter of whom also worked on the soundtrack for Kirby's Dream Land. Ando has been a frequent collaborator in the Kirby series, having worked on several other games in the series.
This music fits well with the style of gameplay and the overall atmosphere of the game. The overall tone of the music is upbeat and optimistic, with many upbeat and catchy melodies. The music also adapts well to the different levels of the game, changing in tone and style to suit the different scenarios and challenges.
Ando used the Game Boy's limited sound hardware to create the game's music. The Game Boy had a simple sound card that was capable of reproducing four basic sound channels, including pulse waves and noise. Ando worked within these limitations to create a memorable soundtrack that was well suited to the console's limited hardware.
This soundtrack has been praised for its quality and has been recognized as one of the best soundtracks in the Kirby series. The game's tunes have been used in several other games in the series and have become classics recognized by fans of the series.

These recordings were made by GatoVerde95 using Retroarch as main emulator, VLC media player, foobar2000 to convert the GBS audios to OGG and lastly Make List was used to encode the list recordings into one for VGMPF. The original dump was provided thanks to dumpeador programmed in Python, then compressed in .m3u lines as playback in order.
