Kick Off is a computer soccer game released for the NES in the EU. Unfortunately, the game never made it to the US market. It was programmed by Mark Greenshields.

Music

Unfortunately, there's little to offer in the audio department. Fortunately, the one song in the game is a lengthy, catchy tune. While the game only credits the programmer, Mark Greenshields, who couldn't remember the game's composer, the instruments sound identical to Wheel of Fortune: Starring Vanna White (NES), which was composed by Barry Leitch. We have contacted him and he has verified that he was the composer for Kick Off on NES. He wrote the music in hexadecimal either on a MS-DOS or Atari ST machine and played back his music having the computer hooked up to the NES.

Barry Leitch had this to say about the music:

Pretty simplistic tune, probably due to how it was being written (straight into code). I like the drums There's a little Depeche Mode influence in there too. Slight nod's to EHIS and The NES Golf game I worked on.

The golf game Leitch is referring to is Greg Norman's Golf Power (NES), in which his name was unfortunately left out of the credits.

Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
