Kevin Michael McMullan was born in 1976 in Austin, Texas. He started studying cultural anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin in 1994. Despite this he did play music during his free time. He eventually graduated in 1997.
Despite not working for Ensemble Studios at the time, Stephen Rippy offered him the possibility of contributing to the music of Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome (W32), more specifically the Credits song. The same scenario also led to him contributing to ...Where Credit is Due in Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings (W32).
He eventually joined Ensemble Studios as an actual employee in November 1999 and helped out in composing the music for Age of Empires II: The Conquerors (W32) and he remained there until the studio was eventually closed down in 2009.
After this he founded the company Line In Audio in March 2009.
Currently he resides in Los Angeles, California.
Music Development
Kevin McMullan used mostly the same equipment that had been used at Ensemble Studios, that is the Boss DSS-330 synthesizer and the E-mu ESI-32 sampler. In addition he also contributed by playing electric guitar in some of the tracks.
