Kenichi Tomizawa is a Japanese composer, sound designer and sound programmer. From 1984 to 1989 he worked at Skylark Co., Ltd. In 1989 he joined Atelier Double as a composer, programmer, and director. When he worked there, Hiroshi Morita was his subordinate. He also programmed their sound drivers. Tomizawa also started his own sound business Asobi Create. He stayed at Atelier Double up until 1997. For conventional music, Kenichi plays the drums. Kenichi also goes by the name Wakame (わかめ) which translates to Seaweed.
Kenichi is currently the drummer in the Japanese band Throughmaker (スルーメイカー).

Music Development
NES
Kenichi programmed a sound driver in 6502 assembly in 1990. Like most other sound engines at the time, he wrote in hexadecimal numbers that represented musical notation. The driver he used before 1990 was likely also by Tomizawa, or it could have been written by another programmer.
Gameography
Note: In the USA version of Boxxle 2, Kenichi is credited as the sound designer. In the Japanese version, he is only credited as a programmer with Goro Takahashi being the composer. Both versions of the game have the same music.
