Katsuhiro Hayashi is a Japanese composer, sound designer, and audio programmer. He started working at Sega in 1984, and was in charge of many of their arcade and home console titles. Coincidentally, he was classmates with Hiroshi Kawaguchi, who was also a composer for Sega at the time. In addition, he is also former bandmates with Koichi Namiki, and the two still continue to work together. In 1988, Hayashi left Sega and started working for Nova. A year later, he left Nova to become a freelancer. Arc System Works worked with Hayashi to create a sound driver for their Super Famicom games. In 2005, Hayashi started working for Takao, where he did sound for their pachinko games.
Some of Hayashi's best known works include the Yukyu Fantasy and Nushi Tsuri series.
