Jim Cuomo

Jim Cuomo is an American musician who worked for Cinemaware. When he lived in France, he had friends who introduced him to game design, which led to him composing the game Bullfight, which earned him a Golden Tilt award for his musical score. He started doing music for Cinemaware when he was trying to sell software and was once again introduced to the Cinemaware team to compose music for their titles. His work for Defender of the Crown was widely acclaimed, which led him to compose more games.
Unfortunately, Jim Cuomo passed away in 2018.
Audio Development
For Defender of the Crown, they gave him a recording of the Errol Flynn Robin Hood movie for inspiration, and he did his best, despite the limited soundchips of the time, tried to get the instruments to sound like real instruments.
Amiga
Jim used a custom sound driver by Bill Williams. He said he learned the bare minimum of what he needed to know to write the music and took advantage of it.
