Jeff Briggs is an American game developer. He has worked on several aspects of game development including production, game design, and audio. Jeff attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for Music Composition and Theory and graduated in 1984. In 1985, he joined West End Games, a boardgame production company. He left in 1988 to work at MicroProse. He originally started out as a game designer, but later was promoted to Producer, Executive Producer, and then Director of Product Development. Jeff stayed with MicroProse for 8 years before departing in 1996, and then founded Firaxis Games in May later that year. Since November 2006, Briggs works as a freelance composer and sound designer.
