Title Origin File Name

Jazz Me is an unreleased track composed for Commander Keen V. Bobby Prince composed this tune using Sequencer Plus Gold.

This is actually an earlier version of the track Almost Out of Breath. This track was later changed and as such received a new title.

Bobby Prince offers some reflection over how Jazz Me came to be:

Cool Fusion Jazz, just for Commander Keen.

You will notice that the drums sound somewhat disjunctive in [the MIDI version of] this song. The reason for that is the limited number of notes that could be on at any one time (this was originally written for FM synth). To keep from going over the maximum number of notes on at one time, I had to keep cutting my drum part down by deleting things. The toms suffered the most. On the FM synth, you never really heard the drums that well, anyway. Those of you listening to this on a wavetable card will probably laugh at the drummer. But, this is the exact version that played on the FM synth (except the instruments are now mapped for General MIDI).

The song was named "jazzme" in the archive supplied by John Romero. Bobby Prince also released an upgraded MIDI version of the song, this one also carried the title "Jazz Me". Whether this is the complete official title is not known.
