JVCKenwood Victor Entertainment
JVCKenwood Victor Entertainment (JVCケンウッドビクターエンタテインメント JVC Kenuddo Bikutaa Entateinmento, also known as Victor Entertainment) is a Japanese company that specializes in many types of media including music, television, and occasionally video games.
The company was founded on April 25, 1972 in Yokohama, Japan as Victor Musical Industries. In February 1984, JVC's sales department was changed to Nihon AVC. In April 1993, over 2 decades after the company's founding, the Victor merged with Nihon AVC to form Victor Entertainment. On October 1, 1996, the developer Pack-In-Video merged with Victor Entertainment, and handled video games. Since April 2014, the company has been known as JVCKenwood Victor Entertainment, which still operates to this day.
When Victor entered the home computer industry in the 80s, they used the moniker Cross Media Soft.
