Hajime Wakai is a Japanese composer, arranger, sound designer, sound programmer, and audio director. He was born in Kyoto Japan. Since 1996, he has been working at Nintendo, and has worked on many of their best-known series including Star Fox, Pikmin, and The Legend of Zelda, and has also worked alongside Koji Kondo. Besides music, Hajime has also done voice work for Nintendo in their Pikmin series, in which he pitched his voice up 1.5 octaves.
While Wakai continues to work at Nintendo, his recent credits are mainly for sound supervision and direction, so he doesn't write as much music for the company.
