Gauntlet II is the sequel to the hit arcade game Gauntlet. While there is no storyline, it can be assumed it is something similar to the first game.
Again, you choose from four classes, a wizard, warrior, valkyrie or elf, but now you can also choose their color between red, green, blue and yellow. Unlike the first game, the game does not end and instead continues levels forever.

Music
The music in Gauntlet II is nowhere near as good as the first game's music. The title screen music is supposed to be an arrangement of the first Gauntlet game's theme, but it is poorly arranged. The worst part is that unlike the first game, there is no in-game music. The composer probably had to learn the Gauntlet theme by ear. While the game lacks credits, an anonymous Mindscape programmer confirmed that Nick Eastridge was responsible for the audio in this game. It is known that Nick wrote MIDI files and converted them to the NES but it is unknown what program Nick used to make the MIDI files, but it was most likely Cakewalk. There is also an unused tune that was probably written to test the audio driver or MIDI conversion tool that Nick wrote. It is a altered version of the title screen music.
