FM Format (the name is presumed) was created by the Pixel Painters Corporation and used in their earlier games before they switched over to LDS. Music can be stored in FMF as either FM synthesis for the OPL2 chip or PC Speaker data. The format is similar to another Pixel Painters audio format, FTF.
