The Ensoniq EPS was an electronic sampler manufactured by Ensoniq. It was first released in 1988 and discontinued in 1991. It originally retailed for $2,400 USD.
Samples are loaded into the keyboard via the keyboard's floppy disk input. Floppy disks with various instrument patches were included with the keyboard. The EPS also had the RAM Expander accessory, which allowed it to better-quality sampling.
The sampler has been used by many composers in the world of video game music including Bobby Prince, Paul Webb, and Peter Stone. Prince and Stone both used it for MIDI recording for their video game music, while Paul used it both for MIDI recording, as well as using its instrument samples for his SNES games for Sculptured Software.
An updated version of the keyboard, the Ensoniq EPS 16+ was later released, but was later succeeded by the Ensoniq ASR-10.
