Enemy Around the Corner is nice song, uniting the drum march and bell fragments. The song was originally composed by Bobby Prince using Sequencer Plus Gold.
Games
Wolfenstein 3D (DOS)
This version is played in the secret levels E1M10 and E4M10 and also in the help. Its track 1 in the game's data files, and the IMF meta tag title is "CORNER". Older Wolfenstein 3D music archives may list this track as "Around the Corner" (name from in-game jukebox) or simply "Corner", but the full title was released in Bobby Prince's music archive.
Voxelstein 3D (W32)
Wolfenstein 3D (WEB)
Wolfram (W32)
Wolfenstein 3D (GEN)
This version plays in the secret E1M10 level. It utilizes standart Sega Genesis YM2612 chip, tune was ported from YM3812 so the result is somewhat inferior. However, GASEGA98K did a grear job in programming, so the quality difference is almost insencible.
Interestingly, arranger tuned this song about 1/2 step higher than it was in original version.
Other Ports
- Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (W64) doesn't have it, even though the rest of the Wolfenstein 3D (DOS) Episode 1 music appear, and the re-make of the E1M10 by itself as the "Nightmare" also does appear. That's because the first "Nightname level", containing the re-make of E1M1 with Get Them Before They Get You on the background feature also E1M10 here, and, unlike in the original, the secret elevator works as the true elevator, without changing the level de-facto. So the music from the first level takes the place of "Enemy Around the Corner".
