- For other games in the series, see Castlevania.
Dracula II: Noroi no Fuuin (or The Curse of the Seal) is an action game developed and published by Konami. It was released for the NES as Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES), but was reworked to work with the limitations of the NES.
In the game, it is revealed that Dracula's body parts are scattered all across the land, causing terror, chaos, and destruction to everything and everyone around them, and so it is up to Simon Belmont to rid the curse.
The game controls identical to the first game. However, the gameplay and storyline are completely different. Where Castlevania was a linear action-platformer, Noroi no Fuuin is more of a non-linear action-adventure game.

Music
Dracula II has wonderful music, and it is helped by the expansion audio channel that the Disk System provides. About all the tracks were also used in the NES version, but had to be completely rearranged due to the NES not being able to support the Disk System channel. The music varies between suspenseful and rock, and combinations thereof. The song Within These Castle Walls is a suspenseful 6/8 ballad. The stage themes mostly consist of the rock elements to immerse the player into the action of the game.
The song Bloody Tears is one of the most popular video game tunes of all time, and is still remixed in the current Castlevania series to this day.
Though the game lists the staff names at the end of the game, no specific roles are given, and instead, it seems a bunch of random titles are given to each developer. Since only the surnames are listed, we have paired them up with composers who worked for Konami at the time, and the names reveal four different Konami audio staff: Yoshiaki Hatano, Satoe Terashima, Kouji Murata, and Kenichi Matsubara.
While it is unknown the exact audio roles of each sound designer, it has been confirmed that Matsubara composed Bloody Tears and the Game Over theme (both of which were also featured in Haunted Castle (ARC), which he was working on around the same time as this) while Hatano composed A Requiem. The game uses Murata's sound driver and shares numerous sound effects with Dragon Scroll: Yomigaerishi Maryuu (FC), which he has confirmed to handling programming and sound effects on, meaning he likely filled the same role here (and by extension, probably composed the Player Miss theme, which is nested among the game's sound effects rather than the rest of the music).
