Domain is a very obscure and weird game, where you run around, pick up items and use them in other rooms, while being attacked by rats and dogs.

The game has almost no text and would leave you wondering about the plot if the title screen didn't hint being based on James Herbert's horror novel of the same name (if rather loosely, since all other human characters and many scenes are missing). In 1986, London is unexpectedly nuked by 5 bombs and you are one of the survivors (possibly the book's protagonist Steve Culver). The game takes less than 3 minutes in a speedrun and even has an ending, if barely recognizable as such (again, especially without the book).

The graphics try to show imagination, but are often unrecognizable and the programming shows being unpolished. Most interesting is the unique and far more professional music.

Don't press the button too long, or you'll just waste that energy drink!

The underground cars turned into fireballs?

Poor Big Ben. And you should have used some ammo, too!

Music

Throughout the entire program, the same song plays, stopping only when you turn it off by pressing the Commodore key or the game loads from disk, and restarting after you turn it on or the game or loading ends. In addition, 6 sound effects in the same format as the music are hidden in memory, but not used by the game.

Recording

The recording was made from VICE 3.2 with the model 6581 (ReSID).
