David Ross

David Ross was an American game developer. He was born on June 8, 1953 in Fremont, Ohio.
In 1976, Ross got his BS degree in Information and Computer Science from Georgia Tech, as well as obtaining MS degrees in 1981 for Computing Science at UC Davis. He started working as a programmer in 1976 when he worked at Texas Instruments in Plano, Texas. In 1982, he entered the game industry when he worked at Bally-Sente. In 1988, he became a lead programmer for Mediagenic. In 1991, Ross moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and started working at Sculptured Software. During his time there, he helped code their Wolfgang sound system for the SNES, which was a significant contribution to video game music, as many other developers licensed it from Sculptured. In 1999, Ross joined other Sculptured staff at Avalanche Software, and would remain with the company for the rest of his life.
